동물은 말을 할 수 있을까?

Pet psychics claim they can break the language barrier between animals and humans.

애완동물 심리학자는 그들 자신이 동물과 사람간의 언어 장벽을 허물 수 있다고 주장한다.

They say pets not only know what their owners say, they also understand them.

애완동물들은 주인이 하는 말을 알아들을 뿐만 아니라, 그들을 이해할 수 있다고 애완동물 심리학자들은 말한다.

In fact, pets are notorious for giving away family secret like children sometimes do.

사실 애완동물들은 어린아이들이 그러하듯, 가족의 비밀들을 누설하는 것으로 악명 높다.

Jessie, the cocker spaniel, told one of owner Linda Whitmeyer's little secrets to pet psychic Dianne Roadcap.

코커 스패니얼 제시는 주인 린다 휘트메이어의 작은 비밀들을 애완동물 심리학자 다이앤 로드캡에게 털어놓았다. 

"He also told her that I snored. He also told her that I have three alarm clocks that wake - and that's very true - that wake me up in the morning."

"그(강아지)는 그녀(심리학자)에게 내가 코를 고는 것을 말했다. 또한 나를 아침에 깨워주는 알람 시계 3개를 가지고 있다는 것도 말했다. 그리고 이건 사실이다."

Dianne Roadcap said she reads pets' thoughts and emotions through images that animals send her.

다이앤 로드캡은 동물들이 자신에게 전송해오는 이미지를 통해 그녀가 동물들의 생각과 감정을 읽을 수 있다고 하였다.

She says she developed this gift at the age of 5 and turned it into a profession 10 years ago.

그녀는 다섯 살 때 이 능력을 개발했고, 10년 전부터 이를 직업으로 삼아왔다고 한다.

"Dianne said the toy that goes around and around. Dianne doesn't know if the cat has a toy that goes around and around."

"다이앤이 빙빙 돌아가는 장난감을 말했다. 다이앤은 그 고양이에게 빙빙 돌아가는 장난감이 있는지를 모른다."

"And I have spoken to snakes and alligators and zebras."

Even as Roadcap's client list grow, there are some who find it hard to believe her.
