One day, a little boy was getting dressed. He put on one red sock and then one green sock. "Honey, why don't your socks match?" asked his mom. "What do you mean? Both my socks are brown." answered the boy. At that moment, she realized that her son was color-blind.

Color-blindness is a type of vision problem. Color-blind people can not clearly see certain colors, such as red and green or blue and yellow. Instead, they see another color, such as brown or grey. color-blindness is a genetic problem, and it is more common in men. Around eight percent of men are color-blind, compared to one percent of women. And red-green color-blindness is the most common type.

Unfortunately, color-blindness makes some tasks very difficult. For instance, reading a colored subway map can be hard. And choosing matching colors can be almost impossible. Interestingly, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, has red-green color-blindness. So he made the Facebook logo blue instead.
